Viña Muriel - DO Rioja - Elciego Wine - Reserve
DESCRIPTION:
A reserve wine reserved for the most exquisite palates. Intense and complex, with fine aromas from oak aging.
TASTING NOTES:
Colour: characteristic ruby red with brick red edges.
Nose: Intense and complex, with fine aromas of oak aging (spices, coffee, vanilla, coconut) combined with a bouquet of ripe fruit.
Mouth: Balanced and elegant, it maintains a good freshness.
Alcohol: 14% Vol.
Allergens: Contains sulfites
SERVICE TEMPERATURE:
16-18ºC
RECOMMENDED WITH:
Tapas and sausages, Iberian ham and Iberian sausages.
All types of meat, especially grilled beef and roast suckling pig.
It is ideal with one of the most typical Riojan specialties: roasted suckling lamb chops with vine shoot embers.
Meat and blue fish stews.
In general, recipes with sauces and intense aromas.
Cured cheeses and sausages.
ELABORATION:
Harvest: Manual with selection in the grape field.
Fermentation: 15 days in stainless steel tanks.
Routines: a daily pumping over.
Aging: 24 months in French and American oak barrels, racking every 6 months. Once bottled, it remains a minimum of 12 months in
the bottle rack.
WINERIES AND VINEYARDS
Location: El Gallo + selection of plots from suppliers in Elciego (Rioja Alavesa).
Climate: Oceanic Mediterranean, with continental and Atlantic influences.
After a difficult 2017 defined by the great frost at the end of April, 2018 stands out for its great production and remarkable overall quality of the grapes.
Soils: Limestone soils with clay and sandstone incursions, with a clay loam texture and very poor in organic matter.
